Web 2.0 and Beyond

The Internet has entered a new stage. What Is Web 2.0? is a great article that provides specific details about what we are currently seeing as a new Internet boom.

Web 1.0 and the dotcom boom/bust was a product of Generation X. Web 2.0 belongs to the Millennials. Who will pioneer Web 3.0? What will Web 3.0 even look like? Should we even care or speculate at this point? These are hard questions to answer but as a futurist I feel inclined to attempt to answer them. I believe that Web 3.0 will be a product of mature Millennials. This is because the Millennials are the new Baby Boom generation. Their sheer numbers will dictate the trends that we will be seeing for some time to come. Web 3.0 will move away from the PC and move into the gaming system and cell phones. The PC will just become an appliance that does the mundane task of connecting everything. The “long tail” mentioned in the article will grow even longer as it extends into these devices. Web 2.0 is where the money is at for now if you are looking to start an Internet business. But, start thinking about how your business will be used from a cell phone, from a car, or within a gaming environment.

This Blog Is Not Dead

On January 10, 2006 (the date of the last entry on this blog) my son was born. He was born with multiple complications that required him to spend his first month of life in the hospital. I am happy to say, that by the graces of God, that he is a normal, happy, healthy little boy. Simultaneous to this I accepted a new position at ChemImage Corp. and have been assisting my wife with her business, V2K – The Virtual Window Fashion Store. With things settled down the blog will now be receiving regular entries and updates.
